Ephesians 1:3-8

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

If you can’t tell, Paul is absolutely fired up about the blessings he has received on his journey with Jesus. He talks about how he has been redeemed, forgiven, chosen, and favored on his walk. The most important blessing Paul alludes to is somewhat hidden because he doesn’t say it directly. But the blessing is right in front of us.

If you’re still unsure, it ironically rhymes with “frees us”. Still not sure? Phone a friend. Just kidding, it’s Jesus! Jesus is the biggest blessing God has ever given us. When people ask me what God has blessed me with I usually say: health, friends, family, etc. Why don’t I say Jesus? I think it is because I don’t spending enough time with Him.

If our biggest blessing on this earth is Jesus, shouldn’t we hang out with the guy? I mean the bible says, “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy…” (v. 4) This man Jesus loved and chose us before he even made earth! Holy cow! If that doesn’t want to make you know Him, I’m not sure what will.

A tweet I read when I was deeply struggling in my relationship with Jesus really opened up my heart. I know it’s kind of weird a tweet could do that. Whatever. Here it is.

“If you met Jesus at the gates of Heaven today, would He recognize you? Would he know you? Would he know your deepest secrets and your hearts desires? Or would he turn away because He doesn’t know you?” We need to talk to Jesus. We need to listen to Jesus. Just like we would a best friend or a loved one.

Get to know Jesus and allow Him to know you. It’ll be the best decision you make.

Do I recognize Jesus as the biggest blessing in my life?

How is my relationship with Jesus?

What can I do to grow closer with Jesus?

Have a great day!
