6 And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. 7 Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.
Happy Monday! I am so thankful God woke me up this morning. As a friend of mine from Kenya would say, “There has never been a day such as this!” Think about that. Today is a blank canvas for you to write a new chapter in your book of life. Don’t take it for granted. Put your thoughts into actions.
This is something I struggle with. Sometimes I can talk the talk really well, but don’t necessarily walk the walk. I can talk about Jesus loving His neighbors and tell other people to do it, but am I doing it? The answer for me is no.
I went to church yesterday at Northeast Christian Church where Tyler McKenzie spoke on serving. It made me realize I am loving people on my own agenda. I am saying, “This is what I can do for you.” Instead of, “How can I help you?” Do you see the difference? One is loving with an agenda and another is loving without one.
What I really want to encourage you with for this week is to put your words to work. My challenge for myself this week is to love people by asking them more questions. I want to learn about peoples struggles and success’s, but I can’t do that by just saying I want to. I have to go do it. Jesus will take care of the rest.
What words can you start putting to work?
What do you want to change in your life this week?
Dear Lord, thank you for the spirit of growth and for giving us the power to put our words to work. Remind is that love is a verb and that it is by loving others that we will be loved. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Have a great week!
