James 4:7-8

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

It’s Friday! Let’s finish the week strong together. We are still walking with James as he continues to shine some wisdom on our lives. Humble yourself. Resist the devil. Come close to God. These three work in correlation with each other.

Humble yourself. What does that look like? I believe it is realizing we are not in control. Realizing there are only a few things we can control for sure. Realizing who is in control. God wants to take care of us. Sometimes we just have to let him.

Resist the devil. This one is weird to talk about because a lot of people don’t want to. The devil most definitely exists and is the one who tempts us, scripture says. We know in our hearts what is good and bad. Resist the bad and things will end well.

Come close to God. This is arguably the biggest one. If we first come close to God I believe the others fall into place. Jesus longs for a deep and meaningful relationship with you. He wants you to prosper and live joyfully. We need to draw near to him daily for this to happen.

What’s the point? The two most important days of your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why. Jesus is my why. He gives me purpose in people and joy in Him. I want you to find your purpose, your why. Humbling yourself, resisting the devil, and drawing near to God can really clear up the fog standing in the way of your destiny.

What does God want for my life?

How can I begin to implement these?

Dear Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for your patience with us. I pray we begin to trust you more in our day to day lives. Amen.

Have a great weekend!
