1 Peter 5:6-7
6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
“People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” I love this quote. We need to have a relationship with people before we can do anything. People need to know we care before they will begin to listen to us.
You have seen the guys on college campuses and on the streets preaching, “If you don’t believe in God, you’re going to hell.” This is called the turn or burn mentality. Believe it or not they do have some people changing their mind. Most people just see someone screaming at them violently. Listening to what this person knows about God and hell.
There is a big shift when someone who cares about you tells you something they know. I know one thing for sure. God cares about you. Don’t believe me, read verse 7 again. This changes everything. The Creator of the universe knows me and cares about me. He is inviting me into a relationship with Him. This changes everything!
I have been doing a great job at saying things, but not doing them. I want to start showing others how much God cares about them. How? Through my actions. Through serving others. The time is now. Too soon, it’ll be too late.
How can I show others God cares for them?
How can I remind myself of this truth?
Dear Lord, what a beautiful Tuesday you have given us. We pray you open our eyes to the immeasurable amount to which you care for us. We love you and thank you. Amen.
Have a great day!
