1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.
When I would take a test in school, I felt alone. In many ways I was. I had my classmates around me, but there was no talking. No eye contact. No nothing. Just me and the test. It was up to me to figure out the answers. Most teachers gave tests with different questions and answers to keep people from cheating.
What’s cool about the world is we are given the same tests as other people. There are others out there who are struggling with exactly what we are at this moment. The loss of a relative. Anxiety. Breakups. Family hardships. You name it. God gave us people around us who struggle with the same things.
These people say, “Me Too, I struggle with that, lets talk about it.” When we keep these struggles to ourselves they become overwhelming and lonely. When we open them up to others they lift a weight and help us get through the storm.
Another cool thing about the world is we are given the answers. Remember the Bible is our “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.” Use it as such! I always try to figure things out on my own just like Satan wants. When I talk with others and spend time with Jesus; I find relief and peace in my struggles.
Who can I start saying “Me too” with?
What will change when I start realizing I am not alone in my struggles?
Dear Lord, you gave us others to give us hope and relationship. Our struggles can bring us closer to others and closer to you. Even though they stink, we thank you for them. Amen.
