2 Peter 2:21
21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.
Today has been one of the tougher days to write my blog. It started on a weird note and has progressively gotten tougher. None the less I am doing my best not to make excuses. So lets finish on a high note for the day with this blog.
The best example I can think of at the moment is this. You live your life for a while eating KFC, Popeyes, and the like. Nothing wrong with these fine establishments, but one day you stumble across a Chick-fil-a. Game changer. Once you’ve eaten Chick-fil-a your life changes forever.
You eat it once and know that it is the best! This verse is like eating Chick-fil-a and knowing its undeniable greatness. Then turning back and going to these other places. Never to return back to Chick-fil-a again. All joking aside you understand what I am getting at.
Once we know Jesus, there should be nothing else that fills us up quite like it. Nothing better. This verse even tells us we might as well have not known Jesus at all if we know him and then go back to our old ways. That’s powerful. So lets check ourselves. Are we creeping back into our old ways. We will always be fighting sin, but be sure not to turn your back on Jesus. He loves you too much to see it happen.
Have I stayed consistent with my faith?
Is someone I know struggling with their faith?
Dear Lord, thank you for the hope you’ve given us in your Son Jesus. May we not go back to our old lives for your Word says we are made new when we give our life to You. Let us rest in that truth. Amen.
Have a great day!
