Children.

1 John 5:1-2

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments.

I’m no longer a slave to fear. I am a child of God. I am surrounded. By the arms of the Father. I am surrounded. By songs of deliverance. We’ve been liberated. From our bondage. We’re the sons and the daughters. Let us sing our freedom.

Such a beautiful reminder of who we are in Christ. A Son and a daughter of Jesus. He is our Father. He is with us in the valleys and with us on the mountain tops. He gives us advice and disciplines us. He is the perfect dad. Always giving unconditional love to all His children.

Everyone is a child of God. God created everyone and everything. And if everyone is a child of God, this should change everything. Put on a new lens with me. The homeless man at the light. The elderly lady at the check out line. The cashier at McDonalds. These are all Sons and Daughters of God.

These are your brothers and sisters in Christ. God’s children. When we turn our head to these people, we are turning our head to Gods son or daughter. On the other hand, when we love them, I bet God smiles. I bet He gets a warm feeling in His heart seeing all of his children just love. Lets start living with a new lens. A lens of love and acceptance to all of Jesus sons and daughters.

Do I see others and children of God?

Do I realize the power of being Gods son/daughter?

Dear Lord, thank you for this truth that we are all Your children. We are all in this together to share Your name and bring others to heaven with us. Constantly remind us of this truth. Amen.

Have a great week!

C. Lyman
