20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
Many people know a foundation is important to a house. A lot of people don’t know it is the most important part of your house. A poor foundation can lead to mishaps when building the initial structure. It can also lead to problems when you try and build onto the house further.
I feel like we are the same way. We all grow up and our foundation is set. It can definitely be altered, but we build habits. We build values that guide us in certain directions. We follow things and put our identity in them.
Our foundation needs to be strong in order to succeed in anything. You need to have solid foundation in sports to build upon our skills further. As you can imagine this also applies to our faith.
Our faith needs a foundation. If you’re a believer, the answer is Jesus. Jesus provides us with the strength to grow. He provides us with stability. He provides us with confidence to improve ourselves and those around us. Allow Jesus to provide this for you. He’s always ready.
Is Jesus truly my foundation?
Do I try to build my life off of other things?
Dear Lord, thank you for being our rock. When the hard times hit you hold us close and keep us safe. We love you for that and much more. Amen.
Have a great day!
