Genesis 40:15

15 For I was kidnapped from my homeland, the land of the Hebrews, and now I’m here in prison, but I did nothing to deserve it.”

Yesterday we read about how God gave Joseph a dream. Today we get a taste of how he is feeling about what he has been through since the dream. Since the dream, Josephs brothers planned to kill him, he was kidnapped, and thrown in jail. He really didn’t do anything wrong to deserve any of this. It feels like there has to be more purpose to this story. It can’t end like this.

Remember God controls everything. He controls us as individuals and everyone around us. The more we read on we see this. I think the biggest thing to see here is that Gods plan is being perfectly played out. Josephs brothers try and stop the dream from ever happening by planning to kill him!

There is no stopping Gods plans. God knows everything you will do and plans accordingly. All the things that are seemingly stopping Joseph from fulfilling this dream are the things that actually are leading him towards his destiny. Jesus is doing this in our lives right now!

Things may seem dark. Things might not make sense. People might be against you. You may be falsely accused of things. You could be persecuted. Remember this, God is working through all of it. There is no stopping God from fulfilling His destiny for you! He has great plans, just trust and draw near to Jesus. Only then will your destiny be revealed to you.

What’s trying to stop me from my destiny?

Has God changed my plans for His before?

Dear Lord, thank you for your relentless pursuit. Your love for each and every one of us is overwhelming and I pray you remind us of that. Amen.

Have a great day!

C. Lyman
