3 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord.
“Without defect” is an important part of the sacrificing of animals. God would not accept anything less than this as a sacrifice. Have you ever given God less than you best? I know I have. Why do we always seem to settle and give God our second best, or third best, etc?
Throughout the ages people have been giving God their second best. Israel especially would do this, as there are many examples in the Old Testament. For me God has probably gotten more of my second best than my best, especially in our relationship with each other. In order to give my best for God in my life, I must give my best in my relationship with Jesus.
This starts every morning. Thinking and thanking Jesus for waking me up. It goes on throughout the day with a blog, scripture, and some worship. It ends with a thanks. I am not perfect trust me and I truly think I can be closer to Jesus than I am right now. I haven’t given Him my best YET. I will continue to strive to give God my best and in turn being able to overflow to others.
Why should I give God my best? You should give God your best because He gave you His best. Jesus. God gave you His one and only Son who was perfect by the way. Never sinned and changed countless numbers of lives. God gave us Jesus so that we could be free. He didn’t have to do this, but He loves us that much. Lets love God as much as He loves us and watch how our lives change.
Am I giving God my best?
How can I give Him more?
Dear Lord, thank you for letting the spirit guide me today. I pray everyone begins to take a step closer to giving You their best. Thank you for your son Jesus and may we never take for granted what You have done for us. Amen.
Have a great week!
