Ministry.

Leviticus 9:23

23 Moses and Aaron then went into the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people.

The title of this section in Leviticus is “The Priests Begin Their Ministry”. When I hear the word ministry I think of a church before anything else. I think about College Age Ministry, Elementary Ministry, High School Ministry, Middle School Ministry, and etc. All church ministries.

I believe everyone has their own ministry whether you work in a church or not. If you work in sales, a hospital, a school, or you’re not working at all; You are a part of God’s big plan. Wherever you are, is where God placed you for a purpose. He wants you to lead and love others right where you are at. Some of the best stories of people coming to Jesus are in the most unpromising places.

When I played baseball in college, that was my ministry. I would try and make conversation with guys and just love on them. Our job is not to bring people to Jesus, that’s Jesus job. Don’t worry about it. Jesus is always working in peoples hearts even when we can’t see it.

Jesus gave us the perfect model of how to minister to others. It always starts with love. Show others you care about them. People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I need help carrying this into my own life. I hope you will join me.

What is my ministry?

Who does God want me to start pouring into?

Dear Lord, thank you for caring about us and loving us. It is because of that we are able to know You. Help us to find out our why in this chapter of our life. Teach and guide us on this journey step by step. Amen.

Have a great day!

C. Lyman

  1. One of my nightly prayers is that each member of the Body of Christ would know his/her calling and not waste time sitting around waiting for someone else to do it – or spinning their wheels running around trying to do someone else’s ministry. Because once everyone is doing what he/she is called to do, revival will happen.
