Fruit.

Matthew 1:24

10 Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.

Have you ever eaten something rotten or fake on accident? Many families keep out fruits on their dinner table or kitchen island. I have been a victim of a rotten apple once or twice in my life. I can almost taste the bitterness now. Blah, its gross! Anyways the bad apples can deter you from wanting to eat an apple for a while. Think about your faith.

Are you someone who leaves people satisfied and full? Or are you someone who leaves others feeling bitter and unsure? My hope is the first. As believers in Jesus we have a huge canvas to either paint a beautiful picture of Jesus on or not. We can either produce good fruit or not. Either way it all starts with Jesus.

How does a tree produce good fruit? Water, sunlight, air, and etc. A tree needs these things and more, CONSISTENTLY, in order to grow healthy. If you think you are just going to produce fruit, you’re wrong. Producing good fruit comes from daily conversation with Jesus. Daily prayer. Daily scripture and worship. Good fruit isn’t just a luck of the draw. We all have the ability to produce it.

Jesus wants everyone to enjoy His goodness. He came for all people to know His name. How? Through you. Through me. We are His avenue to shine through our joy and love for others. Be prayerful about the fruit your producing and listen to what God wants to tell you. Maybe it’s time to make some changes. Maybe there are people He wants you to invest in more. Listen. Learn. Obey.

Am I producing good fruit?

What can I do to produce more fruit for Jesus Kingdom?

Dear Lord, thank you for the hope we can have in Your name. I pray that you help us to share our hope with others through the fruit we produce. Amen.

Have a great day!

C. Lyman
