When did Jesus start showing up in my life?

Dear Lord, thank you for being with us before we knew you. Thank you for being with us now. And thank you for your promise to be with us in the future. This is such a comforting truth and we are so grateful. Please help us to finish this week strong and allow us to have a FUN and enjoyable weekend. Amen.

Romans 10:9

For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Jesus is so cool. Something I love to do is look back when I wasn’t a believer and find moments where God showed up. The way I have seen God show up in my life the most is through people. I can remember specific people He has placed in my life that have impacted me without me knowing at the time.

Whether it was coaches who were believers, teachers, friends, teammates, I love looking back on the seeds God has planted in my life. I am sure He has done the same for you. Think about it. Look back on your life and find a few moments where God was nudging you. Jesus didn’t all the sudden show up. He was always, and will always be there by our side no matter what.

This verse reminds me of this truth. In our past, present, and future are all things. How comforting is it knowing that the Creator of the universe came to save us and is now with us every second. This should change how we see the world! Everyone around you has encountered God is some way, whether they know it or not. Everyone around you is a child of God. WHAT!? That is SO COOL!

This verse makes me smile, not only because it allows me to look back and see God working in my life, but because it gives me confidence for the future. If Jesus was with me THEN, He must be with me NOW. If He is with me now, He will definitely be with me in the future. I promise you this is true. God will never forsake us, He will never leave us, and He will ALWAYS love us despite our past.

I would love to give us all a challenge for the next few days. I believe if you aren’t making someone better, you are making them worse. So here it is… Do for others what they have done for you. What I mean is this, look for someone to share your faith with. Side note* I need this challenge as much as you all do. Find someone in your life that you see hope in, but maybe they just don’t know Jesus. Love them well and build a stronger relationship with them. I promise Jesus will go to WORK if you do this.

Find confidence in knowing God is with you. Even when it doesn’t seem like it. Even when you are so far you can’t even see or feel Him. I promise you He is there waiting and listening for you to call on Him. He loves you as much as He could ever love you this very moment and forever onward.

Thank you for reading! Have a great weekend.

C. Lyman
